Never Lose Hope: A Lesson from Cricket for International Students Everyone has moments of doubt, especially when job hunting feels like an endless struggle. But let me tell you a story about resilience and hope. India vs. South Africa, T20 Cricket World Cup final. South Africa needed just 30 runs from 30 balls. It looked like a sure win for them. But India, against all odds, pulled off a miraculous victory. Just like this match, our journey might seem daunting right now. But remember, hope and perseverance can turn the tide in our favor. Here’s what we can learn from this: 1. Stay in the Game: Keep applying, networking, and improving your skills. 2. Believe in Your Comeback: Just as India believed they could win, believe in your ability to succeed. 3. Every Ball Counts: Every job application, interview, and connection is a step towards your goal. International students, our dream job might be just around the corner. Stay hopeful, stay persistent, and never give up. We’ve got this! 🏆

India is playing two comparatively weaker teams in Super 8, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Hence it strengthens their chances of qualifying for the T20 World Cup semifinal. Sometimes it's less of your effort, but luck plays a big part in the way your future is shaped. Just like in cricket, where the match line-ups can influence the outcome, your career growth can also be affected by factors beyond your control. Imagine you are a finance leader. • The projects you get assigned • the mentors you find and • the teams you work with can significantly impact your career trajectory. You might get a high-profile project just because a colleague is on leave. Or a mentor might take a special interest in your development. These instances of luck can accelerate your career growth. However, being prepared is essential. India still needs to play well to win those matches. Similarly, you need to be ready to seize opportunities when they come. Build your skills continuously. Stay updated with industry trends. Network actively. So, when luck favours you, you are ready to capitalize on it. #Luck #Career #Opportunity

Would you accept an offer letter with someone else's name? After a 7-minute interview where your initial response was "I don't know"? An interview you initially dismissed as a hoax, one for which you had 0 prior experience? Gary Kirsten did. 🏏 That too for the role of the most high profile job in cricket- the coach of the Indian Cricket Team. The rest, as you know, is history. In the aftermath of the 2007 WC debacle and the end of the dark Greg Chappell era (thank goodness), we were desperate to have a coach who wouldn't lead us to disaster. 📧 That's when Sunil Gavaskar emailed Greg Kristen asking him to come in for an interview. 🕵️ Gary didn't answer it, assuming it to be a hoax. When he received the email again, he showed it to his wife who laughed it off saying they must be contacting the wrong guy. 🎲 He decided to roll the dice and go for the interview anyway. In the interview, they asked him about his vision for the Indian Cricket Team, and his honest response? "I don't have one." Post a casual chat with Ravi Shastri, he was offered a contract. The catch? It had Greg Chappell's name on it! They literally scratched it out and replaced it with his name then and there. ⌛ With a family to consider and the prospect of being away from home for extended periods, Gary took time to answer but eventually said Yes. 🏆 And what followed was the historic 2011 World Cup win! Now, these circumstances weren't your run-of-the-mill story; they were exceptional, perhaps even serendipitous. While there could be countless lessons for employers and employees hidden in this tale, I'll let the LinkedIn experts uncover those gems. 🇮🇳 I just wanted to recount this fascinating story as India kick off their World Cup campaign against Australia today. It took us 28 long years to lift that trophy a second time. Will we triumph for the third time much sooner? What's your take on India's chances? #cricket #worldcup #India

Its been a week since one of the greatest turn around happened when India triumphed from the jaws of a crushing defeat in the T20 finals against South Africa. For those who followed or started following this, you would have seen so many sports pundits, analysts and individual team rooters making many observations. Something that you can see below. Up until the 16th over SA had 96.62% probability of a win. That almost looked like finishing touches to be done by SA. For Ind it was like a humungous boulder to be take taken over the Mount Hillaby of Barbados. Miracle's happen and especially in a sport like Cricket. A ball after ball for 30 such balls bowled, India inched towards Victory. Every inch mattered and they fought like there was not tomorrow and they pushed up the win probability. Key thing there is keeping up the Hope of such a miracle. On the flip side for those who were cruising to victory, it isn't over until the fat lady sings. Once you give in that vital inch, from there on inch by inch lost becomes like a quick sand. In no time you would not realize that you are on a slippery slope. Case study for us to get some valued morsels to help succeed..

India - Australia: A Long Relationship Today is U19's finals and it is India v Australia yet again! 🇮🇳🇦🇺 We've faced Australia in the finals for the test championship and for the ODI World Cup, both ended in heartbreak for Indians, this time around Indians are desperately hoping for a favourable result. 🤞 But the relationship with Australia is not just limited to cricket but extends to world trade as well, you'd be surprised to know that the first time India toured Australia for a cricket series was in 1947 but the first time India set up diplomatic relations with Australia was in 1941 when Consulate General of India was in Sydney. Since then India and Australia have been able develop a truly beautiful relationship, - The Indian diaspora happens to be the 2nd largest overseas group while growing the fastest in Australia, nearly a million people in Australia link themselves to India. - Australia and India happens to be the 6th largest two-way goods and services trading partner, worth over $48.4 Billion and 4th largest goods and services export market. - India has made nearly $34.5 Billion worth of investment in Australia while Australia has made investments worth $17.6 Billion in India. - In Australia's education ecosystem, the Indians occupy a whopping 17% of international student enrollments. The University of Wollongong are to establish a campus in the GIFT city, extending the education lines. - And obviously India and Australia share strong defence ties with eachother while training together and allowing special access to each militaries in their borders, the likes of QUAD, G20, commonwealth, Asia Pacific Partnership on Climate and Clean Development are some of forums where India and Australia join hands to collaborate and excel. This relationship with Australia will only grow and we're know that this common love for cricket will push each communities closer than ever. ❤️

Real-life lessons ✌🤗from the World Cup2023 👉This year's Cricket World Cup has taught us that it is never good to be a hot favourite in life. It's not good to have a broken ego before the exam. "England" showed us with evidence that it doesn't take long to get into a storm even if it's top. 👉 South Africa's repeated innings of 400 runs taught us that getting an A+ in Class PSC JSC HSC is not a guarantee that you will have a good career. 👉 "Pakistan" has taught us that it is not just about having talent and talent; It requires stable controlled continuous effort. We need the right direction at the right time. 👉 "Afghanistan" taught us that a lot of things are possible with hard work. But you also have to have talent. And you have to be sensitive. 👉 "New Zealand" taught us that talent tries everything fails if you don't have luck. But you shouldn't stop. 👉 "Sri Lanka" has taught us that family history is not always a good day with tradition, we have to know how to earn by working hard. Only then will success come. 👉 "Bangladesh" taught us not to sacrifice personal interests and family conflicts. You can never make your dream come true. Which is frustrating and painful 😥💔🥀. 👉 "India" taught us that we need to stumble in life. Too much self-confidence can cause harm. So you have to be flexible and alert at all times. 👉Australia taught us. Eating hochs doesn't mean it's all over. Stand up, figure out where the deficit lies. Try again. You can. Show that there is nothing wrong with effort. Trust me. And go ahead. At the end of the day, you'll laugh. ✌💜

Do you Agree? 💯 Reflecting on the recent World Cup final between India and Australia, it's a poignant reminder of the highs and lows in both sports and professional life. The journey of a job interview can be analogous to a cricket match—clearing all rounds, putting in your best, and then facing unexpected outcomes. Experiencing rejection in the final stages echoes the heartbreak felt by the Indian cricket team. Their tears reflect the emotional investment, dedication, and dreams that come with reaching the pinnacle of a competition. It's a shared sentiment across domains, as we navigate through the unpredictable nature of success and setbacks. In both cricket and careers, resilience becomes the key. The ability to bounce back, learn from experiences, and emerge stronger defines true champions. As professionals, let's draw inspiration from our favorite teams, understanding that defeats are stepping stones to future victories. The journey doesn't end with a single setback; it propels us toward greater achievements.

In the T20 World Cup, we observed parallels between cricket and corporate life. Let's explore the lessons from the four semifinalist teams: India, Afghanistan, England, and South Africa. India: The Power of Teamwork India demonstrated the importance of teamwork. Success was achieved through collective effort rather than relying on a single individual. In the corporate world, this translates to the idea that a united team can accomplish goals more effectively than relying on one person alone. Afghanistan: The Value of Resilience Afghanistan showed that resilience is crucial for achieving dreams. Despite challenges, their persistence brought them success. Similarly, in corporate life, staying resilient and systematically working towards your goals can lead to eventual success. England: The Importance of Convincing Execution England taught us that executing tasks convincingly is key to shaping your destiny. In business, delivering work with confidence and thoroughness can significantly impact your career trajectory and organizational success. South Africa: Consistency in Achieving Targets South Africa exemplified the benefits of consistency. Like a reliable employee who meets targets month after month, steady performance and reliability are highly valued in the corporate world. By reflecting on these teams' journeys, we can derive valuable insights for achieving success in our professional lives. 😊 #cricket #corporate #motivation

The India-South Africa test match yesterday was the shortest ever test match to be played ever (107 overs). It lasted for just one and a half day. What can the corporates really learn from that? India had a deadline of 5 days to wrap up the test, and that happened within 1.5 days. They are not going to be asked to play another match in the next 3 days. They have that time for themselves, and that is a thumb rule in the world of cricket. Similarly, when you finish a work in 1.5 days, which had a deadline of 5 days, you should be rewarded for the time you have saved, and not bombarded with more work. Food for thought? Let me know your opinion on this. #corporatelife #worklifebalance #management #timemanagement
