One of the questions I get asked all the time, by founders and scaleup operators alike, is how to manage the ick of personal branding. I have three golden rules: 1. Take one photo and use it - the optics are important, but the authenticity of what's in the frame is even more so. (Not to mention, ☀️ Victoria Obieglo recently reminded us that ugly content is well and truly in for 2024.. embrace it). 2. Keep your average PPW (post per week) to 1 - like all annoying habits, posting on LinkedIn needs to become part of your weekly cadence. Put a reminder in your calendar, and hold yourself accountable. Folks like Annie Liao 🇦🇺, Dickie Currer and Jason Atkins do this really well. 3. It's noisy out there, so keep it relevant. Be insights-led and reflections-first. Today, I made the leap into Fingertip.com and can I just say... this is the most fun I've ever had with personal branding. I can't recommend the UX, and the output (look how cute she is!!!) more highly. #startup #startupaus #community

🚀 Excited to share insights from a recent discussion panel with inspiring founders! This week, I had the chance to join a discussion panel hosted by Problemattic. Founders Hannes Bend, Maria JD Sirotkina, Steven Murray, Philip Källberg, and Brian Dean shared their experiences running their businesses with an audience of early-stage startup founders and enthusiasts. What made me happy to hear was how they all emphasised the most important aspects, which align with my beliefs as a Product Designer: 🗣 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐬: Engage with your users, not just about your product but about their lives. 🔍 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦: Delve deep into the problem. Always look for the WHYs. 🛠️ 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐲: Iterate as much as you can and keep improving, considering your users' feedback. 🔄 𝐁𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞: Don't fall in love with your product or initial idea. Things will inevitably change. 💡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐥: At some point, you'll need to sell something—your idea, your product, or even yourself.
