Activity in Downtown Cincinnati is bouncing back trending upward! Parking and higher sales at numerous bars & restaurants suggest an increase in foot traffic as the city recovers after several difficult years following the pandemic. In fact, the numbers show that parking revenues, as well as the number of cars utilizing downtown garages, have officially surpassed pre-pandemic levels. Interested in learning more about our team? Keep reading for June's Employee Spotlight! ⭐ Meet Daniel Lancaster 👋 Title: Senior Recruiter How long you’ve been with 3CDC: 3 years What brought you here? I was born and raised in Austin, TX. I've also in Denver and Chicago and now I am flourishing here in Cincinnati. I was working at the Museum of Science and Industry - Chicago as basically Bill Nye the Science Guy. I was an informal science educator who made science fun and wore a silly lab coat, gave coal mine tours, and showcased vortex shows. While I was there, I learned a lot about HR. Museums are interesting places! At the start of the pandemic, my ex and I were looking for a smaller, yet similar city and Cincinnati was on my list. An old co-worker, Anjylla Foster, Ph.D., previously worked for 3CDC and spoke highly of the company. She told me to apply and introduced me to some of the team, and I began as a Site Supervisor at Memorial Hall What keeps you here? This is my favorite job I have ever held. I really love what I do. I get to run around the city talking to and hiring everyone from accountants to bartenders and more. I also really appreciate that we are a fair-chance company. I am passionate about finding talent that often gets overlooked and helping to connect everyone to the awesome job resources we have here in Cincinnati. First job ever?: I was a cashier at Jack Brown dry cleaners! What are some of your hobbies? Improv, theatre, puzzles, dancing, gaming and being a generally artsy weirdo. What's your inspiration?: I have developed a strong network of people that's always there when I need them. I've been through a lot and I've learned if trauma is processed correctly, it can be resilience. What is your favorite movie? Beetlejuice Favorite/Go-to place to enjoy yourself in OTR? Level One Bar, Bar 901, and Main Event Cincinnati Fun fact: Daniel's parents were Texas lobbyists and his great uncle, Jake Pickle was a U.S congressman in for 30+ years. During his campaign, he'd give supporters squeaky pickles! Check out the photo of the late Mr. Pickle giving Coretta Scott King a squeaky pickle!
