Communitarian, Connector, Speaker, Author of Diagnosis Dementia Experienced dementia caregiver, advocate & daughter.
Do you know the difference between a GCM, a CSA, and a CDP? Every industry has their acronyms. If you are distance caregiving and/or overwhelmed with suddenly caring for aging parents you may find a private pay consultation with a Geriatric Care Manager priceless in helping you get organized. Rates vary by region and professional. A GCM usually has a degree and experience in nursing, counseling, or occupational therapy in the social services field. #eldercare

Temple Massager helping 911 dispatchers, detectives and investigators. As I continue Temple Massager outreach into the law enforcement / First Responders community I am always happy to see positive tangible results from my efforts. Stress and headaches have a huge cost on productivity. One staff person that is relieved from one headache a month that can then stay on duty and not have to go home can save a Police Department $3,600 a year. Temple Massager use is now documented to save staff from pain, saving their sick leave days, saving departments from staffing shortages. What's the added savings on the stomach, liver and kidneys of not having to process a pharmaceutical? Mental Health component, using the Temple Massager changing a person's mood is conducive to better workplace environment for all. All drug free. Please see and share our press release on the attached document. More to come. #wellness #mentalhealth #firstresponders

I coined the term Blue Trauma Syndrome in my book Armor Your Self: How to Survive a Career in Law Enforcement as a means of discussing all the many factors that erode an emergency responders resilience. I used it to go beyond the simple label of "stress" as a catch all, and frankly far too simple, a description of the toxic effects of this career in policing that eat us up from the inside out. Now, I CHALLENGE YOU to pick up that discussion of Blue Trauma Syndrome in your agency, with your team or with a couple of peers and see what YOU CAN LEARN. Visit www.CopsAlive.com to read more and download a discussion sheet. #BlueTraumaSyndrome, #PoliceOfficerSuicide, #ArmorYourSelf

Consultant / Court Qualified Expert Witness / Law Enforcement Practice / Crisis Response - Targeted Violence (Detective III retired)
These are important tools in developing strategies and systems to ensure safety and management of these difficult calls.
Associate Professor of Clinical and Forensic Graduate Psychology, Former Police Officer, and DEA Task Force Agent
I have been fortunate to have had a career in policing, enjoyed many years as dean at several institutions, and led a team of professionals as Deputy Division Director of Behavioral Health/Law Enforcement at the CSG Justice Center. While I have returned to the faculty ranks, teaching the next generation of forensic and clinical mental health psychologists. It was a rare honor to have been sent the newest publication in the Police-Mental Health Collaboration collection and see my name in the credits. It made me smile and brought back some great memories of working with phenomenal and committed colleagues at #CSGjusticecenter and #PMHC. This guide is the work of a lot of very talented people. It will be helpful for my graduate and doctoral students in the field! #CSGJC - The definition of class! Thank you!
