What an achievement for General Mills, which in 2022 eliminated the use of black pigments in its Liberté yogurt lids by switching to translucent lids. The challenge was considerable. 💪 Black pigmentation in yogurt lids limits their sortation by optical sorting in material recovery facilities, which hinders their recycling. 🎉 Mission accomplished in every respect! The lids are now recyclable with the yogurt tub, where polypropylene (no.5) plastics can be recycled. A significant change for General Mills, who is committed to design all its packaging to be recyclable or reusable by 2030. Learn more about the Liberté case study here https://lnkd.in/g9cENBDD
