- I got a question for you. Is employee engagement and job satisfaction the same? Yes or no? Employee engagement is the connection and the commitment that employees exhibit toward an organization when their emotional, social, and psychological needs are met. Job satisfaction is how employees feel about their compensation, the work environment, career development, and their relationship with management. Both are important, and both can be measured. The most common ways to measure and track these are through employee engagement surveys and focus groups. My firm conducts these by assessing a number of drivers of engagement and satisfaction. Such as feedback, trust, communication, leadership effectiveness, compensation and benefits, work environment, inclusion and equity, and development and advancement.
