Making black and white photos

- To make an image black and white in Lightroom, you can, of course, de-saturated by clicking and dragging the saturation slider to the left, but this doesn't give you much control. Instead, it's better to click on the BMW button to make your image black and white. This will also give you access to the black and white mixer, which is very similar to the color mixer, where you can darken or brighten a specific color by using these sliders. For example, if I drag the blue slider to the left, I'll make his jeans darker. If I drag it to the right, I'll make the jeans brighter. This is very similar to the luminance tab in the color mixer. From this panel, you also have access to the targeted adjustment tool. You can click on it and then hover over the image and click and drag to either darken or brighten that area. And notice that Lightroom automatically selects the corresponding slider. I can do the same thing here on the grass, and you can see that the yellow and green sliders move as I click and drag to the left and to the right. So remember that you can use the black and white mixer to create amazing black and white photos.
