- [Instructor] Exploring AWS CloudTrail. CloudTrail logs, monitors, and keeps track of actions in your account. It keeps a history of account activity made on your AWS services via the AWS Management Console which is the friendly GUI we see in the browser, the AWS Command Line, or AWS software development kits or SDKs. It is always on, so it's free, no cost associated with using CloudTrail. It helps you identify any weird behavior in your account such as: Who stopped my EC2 instance? Who created a new AIM user? Failed sign-in attempts. Who moved my Cheese? Yes, even that. Analyzing CloudTrail logs. As mentioned, every action you perform in AWS is an API call. These activities are recorded in AWS CloudTrail. However, by default, these activities are only kept for 90 days. So what do we do?
