- [Instructor] Project management is the process of leading a team to achieve a goal within given constraints. As an IT service desk engineer, you won't necessarily be leading projects. Chances are you'll be a resource on projects, but a better understanding of project management and how to effectively use it is a key skill for anyone within the IT department. Project management is a wide area, and there are different project management methodologies. Organizations can use multiple project management methodologies or focus on one. Unfortunately, there is no one universal way to manage projects. I want to focus on three project management certifications I have seen peers and colleagues study for and gain from.
