- [Instructor] We have spoken about the career paths available to you if you enjoy the service element of the job, but what about other career paths within the wider IT department? There are lots of options open to you. There are many different skill sets you will pick up working within the IT service desk. These skills make you a valuable team member for any team and open many avenues for you. Beyond the IT service desk, there are roles you can explore. Again, this will all depend on how your IT department is set up and how large the department is. Still, you could be a desktop support engineer, network engineer, infrastructure engineer, application support engineer, DevOps engineer, site reliability engineer, system architect, project manager, or much more.
