- You filed the paperwork and done all the research on what type of products you're going to sell, and how you're going to sell them. The last thing you need to do before creating the website is to come up with a brand. On a fundamental level, we have brands to make it easier for consumers to identify a particular product and make one product distinct from other products in the marketplace. If someone asks me if I want a coffee, I'm not sure how I should respond because there's lots of different types of coffee, and I might be offering a coffee that doesn't match up with my preferences. If someone asks me if I want a Starbucks coffee, now I have more information, and I can give them a yes or no answer. We also use brands as a shorthand. If Apple comes out with a new device, I might already trust that device because I'm familiar with Apple devices and how well they've worked for me in the past. So brands are there to…
