From the course: Driving Sustainability at Your Organization

Sustainability in business

- The United Nations define sustainability as meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. Hmm. Do you think we're close to achieving this meaningful goal? Unfortunately, conventional business practices have been far from sustainable, and now we're facing a climate and ecological crisis that's proving to be an existential threat to life on the planet. Implementing sustainability has become a necessity. Action is needed at all levels by communities, governments, and businesses. Thankfully, a shift is occurring and business leaders are rising to the challenge. I'm optimistic and especially heartened when people like you join the effort. This course will provide you with the tools necessary to begin transforming your business into one that's environmentally and socially sustainable, and financially successful.
