Creative engineering helps you be in control of where it's going and is a skill that leading engineers use every day. Sometimes the ways we've been doing things clearly don't work and we're all looking for a better approach. Sometimes, some people are satisfied and others aren't. This course is designed to help people who aren't satisfied make things better. I'm Adam Shostack. I'm a technologist, author, game designer, and an affiliate professor at the University of Washington. My career has always involved engineering for cyber security, and I've done that from tiny startups to Microsoft. I've built systems like the CVE that are going strong 20 years later. Many of the problems I've tackled had never been solved well, so creativity was crucial. In this course, you'll learn from a proven toolbox process to deliver creative results. You'll learn powerful ways of framing problems, specific techniques for generating and refining problem statements, ways of finding potential solutions, and actionable bloody blah.
