- [Instructor] In this video, we want to take a look at how to configure QoS on a Cisco router. You might remember in our last lesson, we took a look at the theory of QoS. In this lesson, we're going to take a look at the configuration of QoS, and we're going to begin on a Cisco router, and we're going to be using the three step MQC process. MQC is short for modular QoS command line interface. And you might remember from our previous lesson, we learned that Cisco told us that we should create no more than 11 classes of traffic. Well, the creation of a class-map is how we create a class of traffic. Maybe we create a class of traffic for voice, maybe we create a class of traffic for web traffic, maybe one for best effort. Once we create 11 or fewer class-maps, which is step one of MQC, we put those class-maps into the policy-map. That's step two of MQC.
