- [Instructor] So far in this lesson, we've defined some terms such as the DINUS, the dial number, the ANI, that's the caller ID, and the TON, the type of number, like subscriber or national or international. And we talked about why we might want to manipulate some of that information through various digit manipulation techniques. And in this video, we're going to take a look at some different ways of doing digit manipulation. Then coming up in our next lesson, we'll actually get into some configuration. But let's begin with a review of a conventional communications manager route plan. Remember that we had a device. And do you remember the things that could be a device? A device could be either a gateway or a trunk. And we could put one or more devices inside of a route group.
