- [Instructor] The regional priority is the last LEED credit category. The LEED rating system is a global framework that gets implemented anywhere in the world by meeting the same set of LEED credits and prerequisites regardless of the various regional environmental priorities. For example a building in a hot climate may have water as a top priority with little to no concern over storm water management. Another building in a wet climate on the other hand may be acutely impacted by increased impervious surfaces and storm water runoff. Both projects work with the same LEED scorecard. However there is one LEED category, the regional priority category, that regards local challenges by awarding projects with four bonus points for achieving the LEED credits that address the regional priorities.
