- [Narrator] Now that your small business website is findable on search engines and shareable on social media, it's a good idea to add in a couple of extra security layers inside wordpress.com. Even though it's already pretty secure, it's still up to you to follow security best practices. I'm going to start by clicking this icon and heading to my profile. And from there, let's go to account settings. When you created your account, you also created your username. Try to use something that's unique and not generic like, say, admin. Next let's head to the security tab. For starters, use a complex, unique password with a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters, no pet names or loved ones' birthdays. To make things simple, you can even generate a strong password right here. Just be sure to make a note of it somewhere or store it in your password manager.
