What is a green building?
- [Instructor] According to the United Nations, the world's population is expected to increase by 2 billion people in the next 30 years, from about 8 billion to almost 10 billion in 2050. The World Bank Development Report also states that the world's population current living in cities is expected to increase from about 56% to 70% by 2015. Now, as the population grows and organizes, natural lands will be transformed into cities and other human habitats and these ultimately destroy natural filters of greenhouse gases like CO2, or carbon dioxide. As the national coalitions across industry try to decrease negative environmental impacts, the build sector is no exception.
