- [Instructor] On the surface level, a green building seems unrelated to a smart building, but these terms are interwoven. So let's compare them to see how. According to the LEED framework, a green building considers such factors as location and transport, sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, innovation, regional priority, and integrative process. On the other hand, a smart building entails integrating building technology systems such as data network, voice over IP, video distribution, audio/video systems, video surveillance, access control, HVAC control, power management, programmable lighting control, facilities management, cabling infrastructure, and wireless systems, among others.
