- [Instructor] One of the operational advantages of hosting your applications in the cloud is seamless connectivity between the services hosting them. Amazon EventBridge is one such service that connects your applications with data from various sources. It is a serverless event bus service that delivers a stream of real time data from your applications to targets such as AWS Lambda functions, HTTP invocation endpoints, or event buses in other AWS accounts. At the core of EventBridge is an event. An event is an indicator of a change in the environment. When EventBridge receives an event, it applies a rule to route the event to a target. Rules match events to targets based on either the type of event, called an event pattern, or on a schedule. So there are a couple of ways in which you can invoke targets.
