Introduction to vector shapes

- [Kyle] Vector trimming is a new and exciting way to use vector brushes to add and subtract information on the canvas. The easiest way to demonstrate this is to look at this cat and to draw some stripes on it, like so. I'm using a Chisel brush from the Vector Brush category. Now you'll notice that I've drawn the stripes far off of the back and the neck of the cat, but what makes vector trimming so great is I can do this in a hurry, maybe add a few stripes down here, or even across the tail like this, and I don't have to worry about being precise at all. With vector trimming I can trim away all of the excess of these lines by tapping on the Touch Modifier. You'll remember this right here. Tap on it twice, and then one more time so that the outer ring is blue and the inner circle is white, you've now activated Vector Trimming mode. All I have to do is swipe through any of these lines and they will immediately be trimmed right to the edge where they should be. In fact, I can do a long swipe like this, come right down through the tail like that, exactly the same thing happens, and you can trim off the excess very quickly. So this is a really fast way to work with vectors and to speed up your workflow by not having to worry about precision in the moment while you're drawing, you can clean it all up afterwards with vector trimming. To get back to a normal drawing mode, simply double tap on your Touch Modifier, and now you're back to drawing with that brush.
