Think about skills in two buckets: functional skills and power skills. Functional skills are essential for performing tasks and responsibilities within a particular job or a functional area. Some examples include technical skills like programming, database management, cloud computing, generative AI, project management, and marketing skills. Power skills refer to transferable skills that are essential for employees to work effectively. Some examples of power skills are communication skills, leadership skills, active listening, critical thinking, innovating, being agile, and change management.
