The Zone Execution Lead is a critical component of our Product Technology team. They are a leader within the iGaming RA (department) reporting to the GM. Overseeing the execution across multiple vertical product development teams, the ZEL oversees demonstrating progress within the Zone by pushing forward complex initiatives, working closely with the Zone Product Lead, and raising any risks to the RA GM. In addition to being responsible for the Zone’s development work, they are also the people manager for the team members within their Zone and will work directly with the RA GM to provide recurring updates on zone member performance.

The Zone Execution Lead works across the entire zone, floating between all teams and providing guidance on how they can efficiently deliver quality, on-time product features. They will take a strategic view of parts of the organization and determine if they are hitting on all cylinders from a tech, architecture, or day-to-day execution perspective. When there are improvements to be made, the ZEL is responsible for pulling together team members and leading them to a solution. Confronting these challenges may require a project, someone to steward a new process to solve the problem, new hires to help, or a proposal written and managed all the way to acquiring the funding for the initiative. The ZEL has a dotted line management relationship with all Zone TPMs, Scrum Masters, and Product Operations Leads.

What You Will Do

  • Ensure that the Zone is a customer-centric team, focused on executing initiatives that deliver against the Requirement Area's strategy
  • Partner with Zone Product Lead to manage KPIs and OKRs; understand the strategy and build a plan to win around HOW the zone will execute
  • Give technical advice to the product development teams both at a code and architectural level
  • Pinpoint areas for improvement, communicate progress and risks, own the overall execution around the delivery of initiatives against the strategy
  • Know your stakeholders; be fully transparent and gain trust by leading regular meetings to demonstrate progress around the zone's plan to win
  • Identify gaps in accountabilities within the Zone and identify existing or new roles to take ownership of them, record and communicate as needed within the plan to win
  • Establishes policies, best practices, systems, technology, development standards, and methodologies to ensure the bar is met
  • Manage escalation of risks, issues, and dependencies by providing guidance to the Zone so that informed decisions can be made
  • Maintain an overview of our state-of-the-art technology stack by monitoring trends within the industry, and measuring impact or potential impact on business operations and goals
  • Work closely with the Zone Product Lead and other stakeholders to define customer-facing platform development specifications and incorporate them into a master development roadmap
  • Manage all the team managers within your Zone
  • Seek advice when needed from the RA GM around hiring plans, provide insights into employee performance as needed from within the Zone
  • Coordinate, coach, and inspire a set of cross-functional, vertical teams within the Zone
  • Practice Go and See methods within the Zone to experience what's really happening at a team level, gain a clearer insight into any challenges the Zone teams are facing, and mentor the team in a personal setting
  • Fosters a data-driven environment while using data insights to optimize products and processes

What You Will Need

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience within a modern, product development organization
  • Experience leading high performing product delivery teams
  • Detailed knowledge of software delivery processes and approaches in use across the market, i.e. Agile, Scaled Agile, LeSS
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with your colleagues
  • Experience with direct reports and managing team members with diverse experiences within their craft
  • Lead without hierarchy; you are a go-to person in the organization and must be able to lead through influence
  • Strong customer focus recognizing internal and external customers, demonstrating a thorough understanding of customer needs
  • Ability to focus on strategic goals and objectives while dealing with operational issues

This role is remote, with one required visit to your designated home office per quarter.

Home Office: Jersey City, NJ
