Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Student Services and the Building Administrator, the Youth Transition Program Coordinator (YTPC) assists students with all aspects of the application process with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (OVRS ). This includes, but is not limited to: arranging the OVRS orientation meeting, ensuring appropriate accommodations are in place so that the student may fully participate during the meeting, assisting the student with completing the application materials, providing transportation to the orientation meeting, attending the orientation meeting as an advocate for the student, and listening as the Vocational Rehabilitation counselor directs the students on possible next steps.
The YTPC assists the student in obtaining the necessary documentation so that the eligibility process may proceed in a seamless manner. It is the responsibility of the YTPC to assist the students in seeking services for benefits planning and work incentive exploration while not jeopardizing the availability of needed benefits as the student pursues his/her employment goals.
The YTPC informs appropriate agencies and facilitates referrals to other state, federal, and local vocational and related programs e.g., Developmental Disabilities, Supplemental Security Income, Child and Family Services, Oregon Trail Card, Family Access Brokerage. Additionally, the YTPC monitors progress toward meeting state performance benchmarks and data submission requirements using the YTP state data entry system.
