FORVIA is looking for a Year-Round Health, Safety and Environmental Intern for our Auburn Hills, MI location.

Position Summary: The Health Safety and Environmental Intern assist’s the overall Health, Safety, and Environmental department with daily activities. These duties will be accomplished in an office environment as well as field operations.

Responsibilities

  • Document editing and development for ISO 14001 and safety programs
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Development and delivery of training on various HSE topics
  • Development and follow up on action items
  • Research of regulations and data analysis
  • Auditing of work areas and application of regulatory and company requirements
  • Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reduction
  • Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards and adherence to:

  • All other duties as assigned by the company

Position Specifications

Authorities

  • Schedules training sessions and assists with class arrangements
  • Review HSE systems for data entry and retrieves reports


Knowledge / Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel 5% of the time


Education / Experience

  • Current student seeking a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field
