Summary
To provide safe, effective oversight on vehicle movements and staging for 15-25 full-time and temporary staff members. Oversee Allocation exit shuttle movements, and scan for release/tender process in load lines, including payroll, attendance and disciplinary actions. Ensure daily objectives are achieved for the department. Ensure that all vehicles are properly located and released to the truck and rail loading carriers.
Responsibilities
Managing the allocation exit and scan for release processes and all departmental employees.
Effectively conduct meetings and other required sessions for communication of production, quality and safety requirements.
Ensure timeliness completion and quality of work performed by Shuttle Employees.
Ensure vehicle locations are accurate in load lines after truck tender and rail release for shipment.
Ensures all units are staged properly in truck and rail load lines after processing.
Oversee, order and ensure accountability of equipment and appropriate materials.
Perform periodic audits to ensure vehicle handling procedures are effectively performed.
Ensure proper documentation is completed on each vehicle movement according to vehicle handling specifications and quality standards.
Maintain attendance recording.
Team leadership and motivation.
Set and readjust head count per van to accomplish daily vehicle movement objectives.
Maintain accurate production reporting for department.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly load line audits as required.
Complete shift recap reports to communicate incomplete and completed tasks to Management.
Communicates with body shop to efficiently move damaged units to repair areas.
Investigates vehicles that are not properly functioning and reports accordingly.
Support in different areas of the operations when requested to ensure all daily goals are achieved.
Perform other tasks assigned by management.
Create routes that result in minimal wait time for drivers
Consolidate driver movements whenever possible
Follow and enforce all safety and compliance standards
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Skills
Proven leadership experience
Ability to develop and motivate a team
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences
Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices
Skill in organizing work activities and manpower
Computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
Education & Experience
High School Diploma/G.E.D; Associates Degree preferred
Supervisory experience preferred
1 -2 years experience in production, manufacturing, automotive, or logistics industry
Safety and defensive driving, operational knowledge/leadership training preferred
Must hold a valid Driver's License
Physical Requirements
