Job Summary:

The yard operator technician will be responsible for safe and efficient operation and maintenance of corn, Dried Distillers Grains with Soluble (DDGS), Modified Distillers Grains with Soluble (MDGS), and ethanol unloading/loading systems and equipment. This position will be responsible for safe and efficient operation and maintenance of heavy equipment which may include a skid steer, front end loader, telehandler and rail mover to perform loading and ground keeping tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Employee must live within 1-hour drive time from plant location

Major Responsibilities:

  • Reporting weights and grades, moving rail cars on rail sidings, driving motorized vehicles on and off the company’s worksite to load and unload railcars, and maintaining effective written and verbal communication of operational and maintenance issues related to assigned systems and equipment

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Must be highly precise and have a very strong attention to detail
  • Mechanical/maintenance/equipment troubleshooting experience
  • Heavy equipment operation experience
  • Experience weighing and/or grading grain

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience loading and unloading by rail or truck
  • Experience with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Prior grain handling experience

Other:

  • Monday – Friday (must have flexibility to work early mornings, evenings and some weekends)
  • Additional hours required as needed
  • Hiring Range: up to $28.80/ hour
