Wovens Designer - Women & Girls

Our client, a well known fashion brand in NYC, is looking for a creative Designer for Wovens to join their girls team for a maternity leave coverage. The ideal has a background in women's design with an interest in girls!


Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Design team to oversee processes from concept through production stages.
  • Utilize Illustrator to develop CAD flats, fill, and sketch.
  • Create hand sketches and hand drawn flats.
  • Assist in research of seasonal trends, colors, raw materials, styling and trims.
  • Oversee sample maintenance.
  • Create presentation boards for design and lead meetings.
  • Develop technical flats.
  • Assist with decisions regarding prints, fabrics & trims.
  • Participate in weekly fittings and provide comments.


Qualifications

  • Apparel Design degree & 5+ years experience in women's woven and an interest in girls
  • Portfolio featuring women's woven work and HAND SKETCHED designs
  • Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Flex PLM experience is plus
  • Detail oriented and able to work in fast-paced environment
  • Technical sketching and CAD ability
