Mike Agruss Law is hiring a REMOTE Illinois Workers' Compensation Paralegal. Ideal candidates will have at least 2+ years of experience handling workers' compensation cases, preferably Illinois workers' compensation cases.
Compensation
$25 hourly
Responsibilities
Case Management Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all relevant documents such as medical records, employment documents, and correspondence are accurately filed and up-to-date
Legal Research and Drafting Conduct legal research on workers' compensation laws and regulations in Illinois, and draft necessary legal documents, including petitions, motions, and settlement agreements
Client and Professional Communication Serve as a liaison between clients, attorneys, insurance companies, and medical professionals, managing communication to ensure timely updates and information flow
Evidence Collection and Organization Gather and meticulously organize evidence, including medical records, witness statements, and employment documentation, to support workers' compensation claims
Preparation for Hearings and Depositions Assist in preparing for hearings and depositions by compiling relevant information, preparing exhibits, and ensuring all necessary documents and evidence are readily accessible for the attorney
Qualifications
3-5 years of legal service experience under an attorney or lawyer required, preferably in a personal injury law firm
Candidates must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree preferred
Certification from the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) is highly preferred
Must have great time-management skills, and organizational skills
Talented verbal communicator and writer
