Wiring Technician

$20 - $26/hr depending on experience

The wiring technician role is primarily a first shift weekdays in-shop position.

Engineered Systems is looking for an experienced wiring technician to undertake a variety of tasks relating to overhead crane and hoist wiring in a shop environment. Your job will involve installing electrical motors, panels, conduit, electrical cables, and other equipment. Due to the high amount of risk pertaining to this job, electricians must be responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions and good communicators both oral and written. The goal will be to produce fully functioning overhead cranes and hoists to maximize the startup process during installation.

Coordinate and execute plans of electrical wiring of overhead cranes and hoists

Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components

Prepare and assemble panels, motors, and other crane components per drawing specifications

Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or replace damaged units

Requirements

Proven documented experience and training as an electrician

Experience with industrial 3-Ph motor control wiring and troubleshooting

Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter, pullers, crimping devices, voltage and ohm meters etc.)

Electrical drawings and blueprint reading proficiency

Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines

Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability

Travel is required occasionally for startup, troubleshooting and advanced projects.

The ideal candidate must proficiently read and interpret wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.

Requires an understanding of 3-phase motor controls wiring and troubleshooting as well as mechanical skills to mount panels, motors and various crane components.

Proven leadership skills to plan and direct the work of others

Ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in both a team environment and individually. The position requires constant coordination with Engineering, Project Managers, Purchasing, Distribution, and Fabrication/Install.
