Summary of Position:

The Account Manager, Wholesale supports the Director of Wholesale with sales and merchandising strategies to build overall brand awareness, meet/exceed sales plans, and achieve long-term growth and profitability for the Morphe & Morphe 2 brand at Ulta Beauty.


This role can be based in Los Angeles, CA, San Francisco, CA or Chicago, IL.


Principal Accountabilities:


Account Management (55%)

Support the development of the growth strategy for designated wholesale customers, including but not limited to, marketing and promotional activities.


Create and implement wholesale customer plans to deliver brand vision, sales, and budgeted growth objectives as part of the overall brand vision.


Build mutually beneficial relationships with all buyers and stakeholders with wholesale partners, to enable strong working bonds and ensuring brand is first choice for partner activity.


Build strong internal and external relationships and work collaboratively with cross functional partners.


Support Account Director in tracking expenses & managing the channel P&L.


Manages monthly assortment updates & communicates assortment changes to Demand Planning for monthly demand pass.


Manage direct report (Wholesale Coordinator.)


Manages monthly non-sellable request with inventory & supply planning to support VM, sampling, gratis.


Use Microsoft Office products ­Word, Excel, Power Point - to build presentations and shared workbooks/spreadsheets (Ex: Help create PowerPoint presentations for strategy meetings to be presented to retailers and senior level executives)


Marketing (20%)

Drive brand awareness by maximizing all appropriate opportunities with retailers.


Identify opportunities to drive brand awareness, partnering with retailers on marketing opportunities and sampling and GWP programs.


Manage, develop, and track launch plans for all campaigns, partnering with internal and customer demand planning functions to ensure we are maximizing sales opportunities.


Responsible for brands visual representation online, working with creative internal and external teams to provide impactful visuals.


Maintain channel marketing calendars and brand planning documents with on-going changes and report updates to the appropriate parties.


Leads alignment of cross-functional and cross-channel merchandising, 360 animations and promotion strategies with internal stakeholders.


Reporting & Analysis (20%)

Review & analyze weekly sales & period sales trend & present findings internally & externally weekly, monthly & quarterly.


Utilize strong analytical skills to provides insight on assortment productivity and determine visual merchandising strategies where necessary to improve overall health of business.


Analyzes and continually reviews assortments to meet optimal productivity and sales potential by channel.


Monitor and identify opportunities to develop Morphe’s brand awareness, brand positioning and promotional activity.


Review and report on notable competitor activity within each designated customer.


Create & run ad-hoc reports & analysis as needed.


Education/Event Support (5%)

Work with Education Team and retailers to define content requirements in retail channel.


Collaborate with Global Education team to deliver educational content and assets to retailers in timely manner.


Spearhead & manage ad-hoc events as necessary to support retail channel (Ulta FLC & Talent PAs)


Fiscal Accountabilities:

Day-to-day tracking and management of wholesale account sales plans and marketing plan budgets, under the guidance of Director, Wholesale Sales


Key Working Relationships:

Works with Director of Wholesale and internal partners to help develop and build relationships and sales strategies as it directly relates to the Wholesale business.


Supports Director of Wholesale in managing maintenance of retailer product assortment files.


Lead contact for day-to-day operations pertaining to Brand, Visual Merchandising, Social, Marketing, Education, and retail partners.


Partner with Brand and Creative team in pulling product assets and copy for retailer dotcom.


Assists the Director of Wholesale with relevant ad hoc projects including reporting analysis, promotional activity, and other ad hoc tasks when necessary.


Serves as a 'proxy' for Director of Wholesale, attending and contributing to both retailer and internal meetings when needed.


Partner with Demand and Supply Planning in requesting inventory to support sales initiatives

Manages & mentors Account Coordinator in tasks supporting business strategy & the retail channel.


Required Skills & Experience:


Minimum 4-5 years corporate experience in merchandising /buying/ sales account management experience – experience working with Ulta Beauty strongly preferred.


Ability to negotiate effectively, with commercial acumen and prior management of sales plans and budgets.


Sound understanding of marketing and merchandising, with the proven ability to manage and deliver sales through wholesale partners.


Excellent Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and project management skills required.


Bachelor’s degree preferred.


Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.


Strong analytical skill with a high attention to detail.


Must exhibit excellent communication and presentation skills (written and oral.)


Dynamic, innovative personality with determination to perform at high standards.
