Wetland Scientist

Huff & Huff, Inc. a subsidiary of GZA (H&H/GZA) is currently seeking Wetland Scientists from entry level to eight years’ experience to support our environmental natural resources practice in our Oak Brook, Illinois office. The successful candidates will have a solid educational background and must be self-motivated with a professional attitude.

As a Wetland Scientist, you will work with a fast-paced team of Scientists, Engineers, Project Managers, and Principals. We are seeking Wetland Scientists with experience in natural resource and environmental field work and supporting report preparation. The successful candidate must have a current pesticide operator license or will be required pass the exam through the Illinois Department of Agriculture to apply herbicide. Field work will involve herbicide application and manual removal of weeds and requires the ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. The qualified candidates must have experience, knowledge, or interest in the following environmental activities:

  • Wetland Delineations;
  • Wetland and Stormwater Permitting;
  • Floristic Quality Assessments;
  • Biological Surveys

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or Natural Resources or related field
  • Plant identification knowledge preferred
  • Vegetative management experience is a plus
  • Strong Microsoft Office Word and Excel skills
  • Knowledge of GIS a plus
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally
  • A valid driver’s license in good standing
