Wellness Associate

Overview /Objective

This position supports the VP of Wellness and Clinical Services in implementing components of the Total Wellness platform. This role is responsible for providing both administrative and strategic support in the development and implementation of wellness related resources to all members of the NFL family.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the VP, Wellness and Clinical Services in providing wellness related support to all members of the NFL Player ecosystem and larger NFL Community.
  • Providing support in the development, promotion, and implementation of Total Wellness programming, including the NFL Rookie Experience and Rookie Success Program.
  • Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders including: Team Clinicians, Team Directors of Player Engagement, Team Medical Staff, NFL Health and Safety, Transition Coaches, and the NFL Players Association.
  • Providing administrative support, including assistance in scheduling, organizing, and planning meetings and meeting agendas, taking detailed meeting notes, processing vendor payments and approvals, activity tracking, booking travel, and submitting expense reports.
  • Overseeing and coordinating the logistics for off-site meetings and conferences, including close collaboration with the events team.
  • Collaborating with all relevant parties on creating informational materials, social media outreach, website content, press releases/articles, and other materials for successful promotion of wellness programs and services both internally and externally.
  • Creating materials as needed (PowerPoint presentations, confidential documents, etc.) with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Conducting research and analyzing data related to various aspects of Total Wellness.
  • Preparing reports for dissemination of data related to resource development, utilization, and summary reports of Total Wellness initiatives.
  • Implementing and maintaining an effective tracking system for communication related to utilization of resources.
  • Contributing to the strategic planning process to enhance and execute Total Wellness strategy.
  • Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of all internal and external Wellness related resources including: player benefits, the Player Care Foundation, Cigna Work/Life Resources, the NFL Life Line, the Trust, and transition programs and services.
  • Maintaining confidentiality in working with highly sensitive information.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Psychology, basic science, or health related field
  • 4-6 years of work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage in critical thinking
  • Demonstrated experience with data input and analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders across varying organizational levels
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience demonstrating ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous wellness related experience
  • Mental health specific work experience
  • Experience in document and presentation formatting or graphic design

Travel

  • Some travel required.

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • This job posting is for a position with one of the NFL’s third-party agency partners that provides services to the NFL. The individual selected for this role will be an employee of that third-party agency and not the NFL. All compensation, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment are handled by the agency. The assignment to provide services to the NFL will be limited in duration but may be extended for an additional period by agreement between the NFL and the agency.
  • Some overtime/weekend/off-hours work required.

Salary / Pay Range

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Salary

$34 — $36 USD
