About The Role

Superior Industrial Maintenance is looking for a Welder to assist on various jobs that span the U.S. As the welder, you will be proficient in various welding processes such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux Core, with the ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. This role will be responsible for performing welding tasks, ensuring high-quality welds, and adhering to safety procedures and guidelines. Collaboration with team members, problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential for success in this role.

  • Perform welding tasks using various processes such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux Core in accordance with blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Operate welding equipment safely and efficiently, including setup, adjustment, and maintenance of machines.
  • Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Interpret welding symbols, dimensions, and tolerances on blueprints and drawings.
  • Utilize hand and power tools to prepare and clean workpieces for welding, including grinding, cutting, and beveling.
  • Work in accordance with safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with other team members, engineers, and supervisors to troubleshoot and solve welding-related issues.

Requirements

  • OSHA 10 certification or ability to complete OSHA 10 certification within first week of start date (company paid).
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
  • Able to kneel, crouch, bend over, and stand for more than 8 hours at a time.
  • Ability to communicate through both written and verbal communication.
  • 1-2 years experience with welding or in the construction industry.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the United States and work weekends/holidays.
  • Able to assess safety hazards on job sites & use best judgment in dangerous situations
