Because of our growth, we are seeking an experienced Water Resource Engineer to join our team.
CANDIDATES MUST RESIDE IN THE EASTERN OR CENTRAL TIME ZONES.
Responsibilities:
Support various phases of our water/wastewater design projects from communication with clients to deliverable generation.
Managing the technical delivery aspects of all assigned projects.
Manage project budgets and deadlines.
Project work will include but will not be limited to: preliminary engineering designs (PERs), development of construction documents, obtaining permitting, field data collection, H&H modeling, construction administration/management, and task/phase management responsibilities.
Leading project design efforts, construction plan creation, and/or design team coordination.
Drafting and designing plans as necessary utilizing Civil3D software.
Delegate work when appropriate to junior designers and EITs.
Responsible for meeting internal and/or external deadlines.
Complying with all QA/QC measures.
Coordinating with other teams or groups to assure resource management for all projects or tasks.
Train and mentor staff as appropriate.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Civil, or Environmental Engineering, Master's Degree is preferred, but not required.
5+ years of related experience in water/wastewater collection and distribution systems, and project permitting.
Virginia Professional Engineer (PE) License
Experience in stormwater management systems is preferred.
Working knowledge of force main assessment, rehab, and replacement as well as pump station design
Experience in coastal engineering is preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Civil 3D, water/wastewater collection design/planning software (i.e., WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, etc.), ESRI/GIS software (e.g., ArcMap, Arcpro, Arcgis Online), and Bentley MicroStation software.
The position will require both office and field based performed work.
Frequent local travel is required.
Knowledge of BIM Practices is preferred.
Knowledge of stormwater modeling software
