Water Quality Technician

We are a regional public water supplier that currently provides 30 million gallons of wholesale drinking water per day to approximately 1,000,000 people in a rapidly growing region of southwest Florida. Our water supplies currently include the Peace River, two large surface water reservoirs capable of storing 6.5 billion gallons of water, two Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) Wellfields, and a 51 MGD water treatment facility.

To assist our team in continuing to successfully accomplish our mission to supply safe, resilient, environmentally sustainable, and cost-effective water supplies to our region.

we are now looking to bring on a strong Water Quality Technician to the Peace Rive Facility location!

What You Need

• Experience with water methodology
• exp with wwtp's or utilities is a plus
• Experience in method development
• Experience in developing, implementing and maintaining a time-efficient work schedule for the instrumental analysis of samples and reporting of results
• Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and other staff
  
  

What You Will Be Doing

• Collecting of water samples and reporting documents
• Perform field tests skillfully and accurately and record results.
• Calibration of field water quality instruments at various sampling locations
• Checks/updates inventory for OPS laboratory.
• Performs basic microbiological testing for total coliform/E. coli bacteria.
• Perform successful semi-annual Proficiency Testing to maintain certification
• Conducts maintenance on field sampling and analytical equipment
• Manage contract laboratory reports
