Warehouse Supervisor

SUMMARY: Responsible for the supervision and training of all shift employees located in the Warehouse Department. Directs Warehouse activities for the organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
- 2nd shift in Union environment
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned:
Promotes teamwork, cooperation, and commitment to “Total Customer Satisfaction” among team members.
· Supervision of direct or indirect warehouse employees.
· Schedules, instructs, and develops personnel. Ensure they follow policies and procedures, and conducts performance evaluations.
· Ensures direct reports are properly trained.
· Manages personnel and equipment to ensure the department has adequate resources to maintain total customer satisfaction.
· Attends and conducts meetings and relays pertinent information back to team members. Maintains an effective communication system with staff.
· Evaluates department processes for more efficient means and makes suggestions for improvements.
· Ensures that products are complete, correct and ready for shipment.
· Assists in monitoring metrics and alerts appropriate individuals when measurements are unfavorable.
· Participates in establishing or amending departmental policies and procedures.
· Verifies conformance of finished work to ensure compliance to specifications.
· Monitors and maintains inventory, and notifies appropriate individuals when replenishment is required.
· Ensures that products are complete, correct and ready for shipment.
· Responsible for maintaining a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
· Performs other related duties as assigned by Manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable law. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Three to five years of supervision experience in a shipping, receiving environment with proven abilities to exercise good judgment, organize work, and motivate team members. Basic mathematical skills. A working knowledge of ERP, material systems, and ISO standards. Good technical knowledge of department products. Computer literacy and knowledge of PC based software such as Microsoft Office: specific areas would include strong skills in Excel and Word.
