About the Role:

The Wonder Project is seeking a strategic distribution and merchandising partnerships leader to lead strategy, deal negotiation/closing and partner success with key partners to drive revenue and fan engagement for The Wonder Project’s original feature films and TV series for the faith and values audience.


Day to Day:

  • Work with the President & COO and VP of Marketing to create a partnerships strategy focused on strategic distribution and merchandising that supports our marketing and revenue strategy and ensure roll-out is aligned with company goals and priorities (Marketing, PR, Studio, Business Affairs, Finance, etc).
  • Create a strategic roadmap with detailed, well-researched scope, projections and partnership models that drive decisions ensuring that The Wonder Project develops the appropriate products, experiences and partnerships to reach and deeply engage new audiences.
  • Own P&L for The Wonder Project’s licensing and merchandising of its films and television shows; build and maintain revenue forecasts
  • Build and grow direct-to-consumer storefront experiences, digital retail shops and traditional retail partnerships
  • Identify new business opportunities in emerging categories including mobile games and experiences
  • Own relationships with licensees, licensors and product development team to ensure they are releasing products that are on-brand, meet consumer and retail demands and hit revenue targets
  • Own revenue targets for distribution of The Wonder Project’s films and television shows
  • Identify, close and manage best-in-class partners to build and grow audience reach and revenue in connection with the The Wonder Project’s content, including faith-focused distribution channels
  • Own relationships with distribution partners to ensure they are optimizing audience reach, brand awareness, new revenue opportunities and build trust and impact within the community.
  • Identify, close and ensure success of best-in-class strategic partnerships that develop The Wonder Project’s audience and new revenue streams.
  • Develop business presentations including pitch materials, business performance updates and strategic plans.


What you bring to the table:

  • 7+ years of structuring, closing, implementing and optimizing impactful strategic partnerships in distribution and merchandising that build audience engagement and develop new revenue streams
  • Relevant licensing, merchandising and distribution partnerships leadership experience at a similar scope and scale company, with demonstrated growth and innovation mindset.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the entertainment ecosystem, including content production, distribution and engagement.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the licensing, merchandising and experiences ecosystem, including appropriate partners and agencies to execute a world class business.
  • Respect and understanding of the The Wonder Project audience.
  • Outstanding presence and communication skills with The Wonder Project executive teams, all levels of employees and senior leadership in the faith industry.
  • Prefer if the candidate has trusted relationships within faith-driven organizations and media.
  • An effective manager with an understanding of organizations and a history of generating positive, productive work environments.
  • Impeccable personal and business ethics.




Salary & Benefits

Salary + Bonus Range: $150,000-$200,000

Equity participation in management option pool (Series A company)
