VP Software Engineering - Full Stack

Exciting opportunity for a Sr Full-Stack Developer to join a sports tech, software development startup. SportsBiz (www.sportsbiz.com), which has built its MVP, is taking a leadership role in AI and the business of sports.

Important: PLEASE NOTE: The entire SportsBiz team is working exclusively for equity shares in the business. No salaries are presently being paid.

We will receive salaries after the company’s successful fundraising efforts - a definitive timeframe, though, is often challenging to pinpoint in a startup environment. As of today’s job post, partial monies have been raised towards the Company’s $5M target. We are honored that the payment of stipends to employees has commenced.

SportsBiz, www.sportsbiz.com, is optimizing the $100B sports sponsorship ecosystem for corporate brands through our proprietary AI decision-making and advanced data analytics software platform, DeepSport Solutions.

The Sr Full-Stack Developer will join the company as a Founding Partner and will be paid exclusively in company equity from the outset of employment. Upon SportsBiz’s successful fundraising, a highly dynamic compensation package includes base salary, bonus, benefits, and continued equity grants.

  • Must be motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming.
  • Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application.
  • You will work on the software engineering team and collaborate with the sports marketing team and UI/UX designers to bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.
  • Work with Product Management and other stakeholders (Backend, UX, etc.) to iterate on new features within the SportsBiz product.
  • Craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.
  • Consistently ship small features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with the team on larger projects.
  • Help improve the overall experience of our product through improving the quality of the Front-end features.
  • Solve technical problems of high scope and complexity. Requirements
  • Expertise with React.js is essential
  • Experience with writing automated tests
  • A solid understanding in core web and browser concepts (e.g. how the browser parses and constructs a web page)
  • A solid understanding of semantic HTML, CSS, and core JavaScript concepts.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient for success in a remote and largely asynchronous work environment
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in software development
  • Experience with AWS
  • Knowledge of Java and Python is a plus
  • DevOps and/or Data Science experience is a plus
  • BA/BS in computer science or related field; advanced education is a plus
  • Passion for technology, software development, and mathematics
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills
