VP, Software Architecture

iWorld Professionals is seeking a VP, Software Architecture for our client, a global leader in providing thousands of companies software as a service. This is remote position working for a company headquartered in Boston Mass with offices across the globe. VP Software Architecture Position Summary:

Your experience as an employee will consist of flexible work hours to ensure a positive work-life balance and use Zoom, Slack, and other tools to stay connected. As a VP of Software Architecture, you will work closely with a variety of technical leaders to craft and refine the architectural vision, philosophy, and practice of our engineering teams. This role will lead technical design & problem solving across a variety of products, technical stacks, and business units within the company. You will be a critical business and technical leader, collaborating with executives to set technical direction and priorities. You will also be mentoring and coaching architects within teams to lead strategy and technical execution across their respective roadmaps.

Vice President, Architecture Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Strong technical expertise across a wide array of technologies and platforms, preferably in a SaaS environment
• Demonstrated strong leadership capabilities
• Ability to work collaboratively to build credibility across leadership teams and drive effective results
• Ability to set forth a vision for SaaS software solutions
• Ability to define solutions can meet the rising needs of performance and scale.
• Work creatively with other business units to align technical strategy across complex initiatives to drive success across the business. VP, Software Architecture
• Collaborate with senior leadership across the product & technology organization to define the architectural vision and strategic priorities
• Coach other junior architects through iterative technical design
• Offer ideas on how to leverage AI systems and patterns to enhance and optimize efficiency
• Collaborate with Product Management executives to guide a proper balance of technical initiatives vs. new feature builds
• Ability to provide hands-on support with engineering challenges to help teams break through technical blockers and see a clear path forward
• Champion technical ownership and responsibility across the engineering teams
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or you’ve been building software long enough to learn through experience.
• 10+ years of experience architecting and building software for scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Minimum of 5 years in a management role with a proven track record of leading effective teams, particularly remote teams
