Job Description

The Vice President of Sales is critical to the overall growth of the company through the increase in revenue based on managing the sales force, gaining market share, influencing the product mix, and focusing resources and efforts on reaching high customer satisfaction.

Here’s what you can expect in the way of specific job responsibilities as well as time allocation estimates:

Sales (60%)

  • Cultivate contacts and build relationships with current and prospective customers, industry networks and decision makers, to increase sales
  • Lead account management activities: contact with key stakeholders, promotion of Edwards product, discount/rebate management according to volume
  • Analyze sales data and market conditions to ensure appropriate market coverage; oversee territory changes and realignments
  • Maintain relationships with industry peers and competitors and analyze impact of their pricing, services, and relevant intelligence
  • Develop required market insight, identify known and unmet customer needs and collaborate with Merchandising to develop sales strategies and solutions; assist in the implementation of new products and services
  • Collaborate with Edwards’ custom division, EdwardsX, to handoff and receive leads from current and prospective customers and to deliver combined solutions as needed

Leadership (30%)

  • Develop and implement the sales strategy to target end-markets and distribution channels for Edwards products and services
  • Lead through relationships and team building to train the sales force to implement current sales strategies
  • Develop staff to set and achieve goals, with disciplined use of sales methodology and tools to meet or exceed sales growth expectations
  • Accurately oversee department budget

Customer Satisfaction and Brand Development (10%)

  • Be the Brand Ambassador for Edwards’ products and services, model behavior of pride and excellence in representing the company across all sales team members
  • Collaborate in design and execution of Marketing initiatives: tradeshows and buying group events, product launches
  • Assist in select situations to ensure positive customer relationships and company welfare are maintained

To be successful in this role, you need to have the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business or other related field is required
  • 10 + years of sales and sales management experience
  • Experience in apparel or soft goods
  • Demonstrated experience establishing and achieving sales goals
  • Ability to cultivate professional relationships through written and verbal communication
  • Problem solving and implementation
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Teambuilding, collaboration, effective delegation, training and mentoring
  • Performance management and coaching
