Overview

The Vice President Regional Operations Greensboro Market is responsible for the direction, leadership, and execution of operations at Moses Cone Hospital, Wesley Long Hospital, and Behavioral Health Hospital. Ensures achievement of established goals and objectives to provide quality, economical healthcare services to the community. This executive collaborates closely with other members of the senior leadership team regarding matters pertaining to staff activities, service line leadership, and clinical leadership that impact the provision of services delivered at the three acute care locations in the Greater Greensboro region. This position reports to the Market President and will work closely with other senior leaders across other divisions to drive improvement in key metrics that contribute directly to overall organizational success and the execution of strategy.

Responsibilities

Assess and evaluates operational effectiveness across the region, identifying opportunities for synergy in care provision; Leads the development and execution of operational plans in conjunction with other operational leaders.

Creates framework and responsible for operational metrics, KPIs, volumes, and other strategic goals for the market. Leads other operational entities and leaders in the achievement of market goals/metrics and sustained outcomes.

Drives accountability of leaders and fosters an environment of continuous improvement and drives sustained outcomes for the region through the provision of care with the highest quality, safety, and service; prudent financial stewardship; and strong talent management strategies.

Leads, coordinates, and resolves day to day problems concerning operation of the hospitals; provides direction to departmental leaders in resolving issues. Implements plans to proactively avoid future operational issues.

Within the context of Cone Health system priorities and brand promise, partners with Hospital to create & drive a clear and unified vision of what business and clinical coordination may be leveraged throughout the Greater Greensboro region.

Ensures compliance with all laws, regulations, accrediting agencies, policies and procedures; immediately takes remedial actions to resolve or improve deficient conditions or problems.

Forge collaborative, strategic, and successful partnerships across Cone Health that leverage system resources while advocating and prioritizing for needs within the region.

Builds effective relationships with Medical and Dental Staff concerning operational matters and assists in resolving concerns to ensure patient care needs are met. Analyzes facility utilization, contract agreements patient care standards and policy. Provides strategic recommendations to Regional President.

Qualifications

Recruits, coaches and retains hospital leaders and other key staff to provide for efficient and high-quality patient care, patient satisfaction, financial performance, employee engagement, and physician involvement. Fosters and cultivates a broad lens of leadership effectiveness. Qualifications:

EDUCATION:REQUIRED:

Master's Degree in Health Administration, Business or a related professional field

EXPERIENCE:REQUIRED:

5 to 7 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in an acute care setting is required. Evidence of operations experience in a complex, tertiary care center preferred. A proven track record of leading initiatives to improve quality of care, assuring patient safety, and maintaining compliance with accreditation standards in a regulatory environment with various state and federal agencies and The Joint Commission. Proven financial and operational track record demonstrating experience with budget strategy, identifying priorities and negotiating resources. Demonstrated experience utilizing analytic skills, critical and systems thinking skills and decision making in a complex administrative environment.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED:

Valid Driver's License | Valid Driver's License

If driving Cone Health vehicle, must have 5 years of driving experience and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.

Professional certification is required or must be attained within 1 year of hire.

PREFERRED: Certification as FACHE is preferred.
