Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President, Provider Relations to lead our efforts in building and maintaining strong partnerships with healthcare providers. The Vice President, Provider Relations will play a crucial role in developing and executing strategies to enhance provider engagement and drive improvement initiatives.

The Vice President, Provider Relations is a full-time, remote, exempt position and reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Base Salary Range: $225,000 - $250,000 annually.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive provider relations strategy to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key healthcare providers.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, operations, and product, to align provider relations initiatives with business objectives.
  • Develop and lead initiatives such as a Provider Advisory Board to ensure on-going outside-in perspectives to inform our strategies, initiatives, and experiences.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies within the provider relations function.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics affecting provider relations and healthcare delivery.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to across the organization.
  • Aligns provider priorities to overall Enterprise strategy.
  • Develops strong cross-functional relationships and collaborative approach across all lines of business.
  • Define, develop, and deploy a roadmap of new solutions to support provider transformation in the market. Work with cross-functional stakeholders to align and execute the build and deployment of these strategies including but not limited to new product constructs.

Skills

  • Experience in a senior leadership role within a healthcare organization.
  • Knowledge of current healthcare trends and challenges.
  • Experience with healthcare information systems.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining successful relationships with healthcare providers.
  • The ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse audiences.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative initiatives.
  • Eagerness to learn, improve, grow, and earn new opportunities – including demonstrating responsiveness to constructive feedback.
  • Ability to pivot and quickly adapt in response to changes in the external environment or company priorities.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in provider relations, network management, managing a physician practice or related healthcare field, with progressive leadership responsibilities.
  • Must be a trained clinician with direct experience in delivering patient care.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience.

Clinical Training And Education Requirements

  • Clinical Training:
  • Completion of accredited clinical training programs corresponding to licensure (e.g., nursing program, medical school, physician assistant program).
  • Ongoing participation in continuing medical education (CME) or continuing education units (CEUs) to maintain clinical licensure.
  • Education and Certifications:
  • For Registered Nurses (RNs):
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
    • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or relevant healthcare administration degree preferred.
    • Certification in healthcare leadership or management (e.g., Certified in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP)) is a plus.
  • For Physicians (MD/DO):
    • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
    • Board certification in relevant specialty.
    • Additional certification in healthcare management (e.g., Certified Physician Executive (CPE)) is desirable.
  • For Nurse Practitioners (NP) and Physician Assistants (PA):
    • Master’s degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
    • Certification from relevant accrediting bodies (e.g., AANP, NCCPA).
    • Additional training or certification in healthcare management is a plus.
