The Gartner Research Board (GRB) is Gartner’s dedicated service for the senior-most technology and digital leaders and their functional direct reports from the largest and most complex Global organizations. The roles we serve include Global CIO, Digital Officer, Technology Officer, Data & Analytics, Infrastructure & Operations, Enterprise Architects, Security & Risk, and Strategic Sourcing.

GRB is the only global peer research service that supports the critical priorities of these senior leaders through a combination of shared member community insight (members learning from each other’s experiences) and thought leadership from the Gartner analyst community, supported by external connections from an extended ecosystem of vendor, academic, and investor relationships.

VP Program Directors work closely with member technology leaders, ranging from Global CIOs to Data & Analytics leaders in the GRB community to address their top priorities, help to bring together peer connections, insight from GRB dedicated, member-driven research, and the wealth of capability across Gartner in support of members’ goals. Dependent on priorities, Program Directors will apply their expertise in each area to guide members with deeper insight through a combination of practical experience and professional exposure.

Working collaboratively with the Research Board team, Program Directors are responsible for engaging and retaining Research Board members, and for supporting growth initiatives to develop and strengthen the Research Board community.

What you will do:

  • Manage client delivery based upon client-defined criteria for success in the investment to maximize client return on investment.
  • Understand the client’s business goals and objectives for the current and coming years and assist in shaping their priorities to address these challenges.
  • Identify and provide successful critical initiative use cases applied and achieved in other at-scale organizations.
  • Conduct monthly high impact consultations with members to assist in moving the member along the initiative journey. Curate and thoughtfully apply the right assets, content, and resources at the right time using a roadmap to address those obstacles.
  • Manage all member activities and communications in partnership with the Client Service Manager
  • Responsible for forging and maintaining strong personal and commercial relationships with their board members and the Gartner sales organization
  • Collaborate extensively with the Research team on topic and report development; contribute to each research study drawing on industry experience and knowledge of the membership.
  • Plan and chair member meetings (include agenda development, external speaker recruiting and preparation, pre-meeting member communications, post-meeting communications and follow-up).
  • Meet financial targets for member retention and new member acquisition

Who You Are:

  • 15+ years’ experience with a focused specialty in digital transformation
  • Must have IT leadership and/or Senior Consulting role with a Global 500 company
  • Experience developing digital transformation strategies and implementing innovative digital programs and products
  • Extensive knowledge of digital/technology leader’s focus areas with an in-depth understanding of the IT industry (including Strategy Leadership, Operations Management, Trends and Metrics, etc.) and the priorities and challenges of leadership in this environment.
  • Exposure to large E2E transformative initiatives having led/co-led large critical programs
  • Project to Product experience where new revenue streams were created
  • Launching a P&L and adding to the top line / substantial P&L responsibility
  • Agile / DevOps / Emerging Technologies
  • Advanced critical thinking and structured problem-solving skill
  • High tolerance and an advanced ability to lead and manage ambiguous situations with multiple priorities
  • Excellent relationship building and collaboration skill
  • Meeting orchestration and facilitation skills
  • Strong, confident executive presence through superior verbal, written, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Demonstrable sales and/or business development experience with CXO level executives
  • Intellectually curious and hungry to learn
  • Naturally Collaborative
  • Active listening skills

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 192,800 USD - 225,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
