Job Summary
Lead teams of Product Management & Sales Performance (along with Meeting Planner role), interfacing with cross functional teams within Messer to achieve both short- and long-term objectives. Principal Responsibilities
- Maintenance of 10-year overall product strategy for LASU, CO2, and Hydrogen (Helium strategies led by other parts of the organization)
- 3 and 1-year tactical plans to achieve the long-term strategy and increase profitability of merchant business in US
- Develop and model merchant credits to support plant investment capex requests
- Support for commercial teams in evaluating deal profitability, sourcing options and logistics
- Manages Force Majeure process by deciding the level of allocations, cost to be recovered and the duration
- Oversees surcharge programs for cost recovery
- Manages existing and development of new feedgas sources (primary on CO2; support on hydrogen)
- Purchase, sale and swaps of product with competitor or other industrial gas supplier
- Develop & manage budget (primarily volume and revenue) for LASU, CO2 and Hydrogen product lines
- Monthly reporting & business analytics for sales and marketing organization (EVP to Account Manager level)
- Sales incentive compensation plans to drive business objectives
- Manage & facilitate the price activities (CPR – Customer Performance Review), including linkage to budget and incentives, adjusting actions as needed to achieve budget objectives and market conditions, to drive account profitability.
- Support and facilitate budget process, including development of the Application Equipment budget.
- Sales system and process management for the tools & processes used by sales and marketing team, including Salesforce.com, sales deal profitability tool, pricing, etc. This includes day to day support & training, along with supporting and testing enhancements and system changes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education: Master's Degree and BA required or MBA with BA in Engineering or Business
- Minimum 10 years of experience required: Leadership of a team; Business and strategy planning for industrial merchant market – familiar with Messer’s commercial and operations or experience in a complex supply network a plus.
