Position Summary

The VP of Product, reporting to the CPO, will play a pivotal role in the future of the company, consistently delivering product innovation across our portfolio and customer lifecycle. This position will create an exceptional level of alignment across the organization, ensuring the team understands the vision and direction for the product in support of our business goals, and have clear plans in place to execute. In addition, the VP of Product will grow and develop a top-tier, tight-knit Product team and build a deep partnership with Technology, UX, Data Science and the Go-to-Market teams to ensure we make rapid progress on our roadmap and new growth initiatives.

Essential Job Functions

  • Accountable for the product vision, roadmap, and execution through exceptional leadership, business acumen, customer advocacy, and coaching, both with the product team and throughout the organization
  • Own our product strategy, rooted in our vision, mission, and market opportunity, to deliver against business and growth objectives
  • Drive meaningful business outcomes for Truckstop by creating customer value across both carriers and brokers as well as shippers
  • Guide and prioritize the new product efforts based on multiple factors including a deep understanding of customer problems and needs, company strategy, competitive landscape, and technical feasibility
  • Bring rigor to product management by creating an environment focused on discovery and learning, ruthless prioritization, high-trust collaboration, and urgency in delivering against business outcomes
  • Gain and continually build a deeper understanding of current and prospective customers, both buyers and end users
  • Communicate the vision for the Product function internally, and how it makes us better overall, as well as within each function
  • Set ambitious goals and manage teams to deliver significant impact to our customers and our business
  • Establish and interpret KPIs to track product outcomes, determine experiment disposition, and predict and drive future performance
  • Recruit and grow top talent, aligned to the Truckstop core values
  • Foster a Product culture that promotes psychological safety and embraces continuous improvement, healthy conflict, and empowered teams
  • Demonstrates exceptional focus on details while adeptly navigating between a strategic outlook and a hands-on approach within a fast-paced environment
  • Assess new growth opportunities to expand within our customer base and to adjacent markets over the coming years through hypothesis-driven experimentation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to connect the dots in our data and across various input sources to derive insights that will help us improve our product
  • Manage and measure the success of your products with detailed analysis on cost, pricing, and margin across our cloud offerings
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management leaders across the Enterprise to determine integration opportunities with Truckstop portfolio
  • Create and lead others for mockups, wireframes or POCs
  • Gather and incorporate product feedback into subsequent product releases
  • Continuously improve Truckstop’s product management team’s impact and productivity, building a culture of excellence
  • Be a product expert and domain expert, participate in conferences, and meetings with customers and partners
  • Put customers and users front and center, balancing qualitative and quantitative feedback from internal and external sources

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of Product Management experience, with some of those in a marketplace business and/or a product-led SaaS business
  • 5+ years’ progressive leadership experience
  • Experience leading product at a growth stage company
  • Strong track record of developing product leaders and fostering strong product teams
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, engineering capabilities, and what makes successful Product/Engineering partnerships
  • Strong track record of developing product leaders and fostering strong product teams
  • Passion for product excellence and experience working in organizations with strong collaboration amongst Engineering, Product, Design, and Business functions
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Pendo, and Aha! Preferred
  • Experienced in leading Product at a B2B company with at least 100 employees

Preferred Requirements

  • Master’s Degree3+ years of experience as VP of Product or above
  • Logistics industry experience
  • Experience managing remote teams
  • A demonstrated track record of using qualitative and quantitative measures to prioritize a product roadmap that drives measurable business outcomes
  • 2+ years of experience as VP of Product or above
  • Logistics industry experience

At Truckstop we are dedicated to creating a workplace that is equitable, inclusive, and inspiring for every employee. In an effort to provide greater transparency, we are sharing the base salary range for this position. The position is also eligible for a yearly bonus. Final salary is based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$215,000—$255,000 USD

The above description covers the most significant duties performed but does not include other related occasional work that may be assigned or is completed by the employee.
