At SPCSHP, our people are the heart of our success. We're seeking a visionary VP, People & Culture to join our executive team and lead our most valuable asset - our crew. This role is pivotal in shaping our organizational culture, driving employee engagement, and ensuring SPCSHP remains a beacon of innovation and excellence in our industry.

The VP, People & Culture will be responsible for all aspects of recruiting, hiring and retaining our crew. You will nurture our culture via our values, including fostering a positive and productive work environment. You will be responsible for promoting effective communication, conflict resolution, and diversity, equity and inclusion. This role requires a strong understanding of employment laws, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to provide guidance and support to crew and leadership.

The VP, Talent will report directly to the CEO while working closely with the executive team.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES:

STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP

  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and implement people-centric strategies that align with SPCSHP's business goals and values
  • Act as a change agent, driving organizational transformation and foster a culture of continuous improvement

TALENT MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT

  • Design and implement innovative talent acquisition strategies to attract top-tier candidates
  • Develop comprehensive career progression frameworks and succession planning programs to help people do the best work of their careers
  • Equip people leaders with the needed skills to give constructive feedback and have difficult conversations to further develop a culture of feedback at all levels of the company
  • Oversee and manage compensation and benefits design/administration, HR systems, compliance, reporting, immigration, etc
  • Spearhead mentorship, leadership development, and general L&D initiatives across all levels of the company
  • Oversee and manage People & Culture Sr. Manager and Manager in day-to-day people & culture and HR operations


Employee Experience & Engagement

  • Create and maintain an exceptional employee experience from recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and through offboarding
  • Implement and analyze regular employee feedback mechanisms to gauge engagement and satisfaction
  • Develop and execute wellbeing programs that support work-life balance and mental health

IMPACT, DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION

  • Manage, nurture and develop the Sr. Impact Manager in leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive Impact strategy
  • Establish metrics and accountability measures to track progress on DEI and Impact initiatives
  • Foster an inclusive workplace culture where all employees feel valued and empowered to thrive

ORGANIZATIONAL DESIGN & EFFECTIVENESS

  • Assess and optimize organizational structure to support business growth and agility
  • Implement change management strategies to support organizational transitions
  • Identify and pursue additional ways in which People & Culture can contribute to SPCSHP's goals and overall success

COMPLIANCE & RISK MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations across jurisdictions
  • Develop and maintain robust HR policies and procedures that mitigate risk while supporting a positive work environment

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven track record of 10+ years in progressive HR leadership roles, preferably in fast-paced, creative industries
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing HR teams
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate HR initiatives into tangible business outcomes
  • Experience in scaling HR functions in growing organizations
  • Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is preferred
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus

The salary band for this role is $190,000 - $230,000. Where a prospective new hire's base salary will fall within this band depends on several factors including their qualifications and experience, the skill level required in the role, market rates, and the salaries of existing crew members at SPCSHP within the same role to maintain equity.
