VP of Sourcing/Production

Our client, a men's and women's apparel company, is seeking a VP of Sourcing/Production to join their team in NYC! This role is pivotal in managing and optimizing the entire production process to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of garment sourcing and production. Ensure that the production processes meet quality standards and align with customer requirements.
• Lead, oversee, and further develop the existing production, sourcing, and quality control teams. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Negotiate cost, delivery, and payment terms with vendors to ensure the best possible deals and maintain profitability.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current vendors and develop new, reliable suppliers globally.
• Ensure adherence to product standards, including rigorous product testing and customer-required inspections.
• Work closely with sales and merchandising teams to achieve target costing and meet customer needs. Coordinate with the internal production team and manage the QC team to ensure high product quality.
• Coordinate deliveries and shipping with the internal operations department to ensure timely and efficient distribution.
• Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring business continuity.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in sourcing and production within the sportswear or apparel industry, with a strong background in managing international production processes.
• Exceptional negotiation, project management, and leadership skills. Proficiency in managing large teams and complex production schedules.
• In-depth understanding of global sourcing, production standards, quality control, and compliance regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Prior experience producing goods for large retailers required
• Experience working with duty-free countries and emerging markets a plus
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
