ABOUT PATRIA:

Patria is, essentially, a long-lasting and resilient entrepreneurial Partnership, that continually observes reality, anticipates trends and adapts to capture them. Here we are home to professionals who carry this entrepreneurial spirit, who know how to transform ideas into real business opportunities, and who are engaged in the development and perpetuation of the Partnership.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking to hire an experienced VP of Private Markets Institutional Sales to expand the North American sales and relationship management efforts of the firm to the institutional investor community, working closely with the Heads of Sales East and West.

  • It is expected to collaborate extensively with Patria’s senior team on the strategic positioning and effective communication of the firm’s messages, performance, and branding, to effectively and efficiently extend coverage to directly source and manage LP relationships in the region.
  • Experience in institutional fundraising and the investor relations function, strong knowledge of the private equity and private markets industry, as well as excellent sales, marketing, pipeline management, and organizational skills are required.
  • The role will be based in Patria’s New York office and provide the opportunity for travel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and cultivate strong relationships throughout the investment community (pensions, insurers, endowments, foundations, family offices, and RIAs) ensuring that Patria’s brand, platform, and capabilities are effectively represented.
  • Systematically map and target investors not presently invested with Patria to:
  • Establish new relationships with prospective investors, coordinating meetings and roadshows with them.
  • Follow-up with investors after presentations are made, and field information requests and coordinate to ensure that answers are delivered efficiently to progress the sales process.
  • Where relevant, interface with their field consultants while coordinating with existing sales leaders and product teams.
  • Seek and deliver market feedback such as investor developments, changes in investment appetite and buying behavior, news, and other information that might factor into the firm’s overall marketing and business strategy.
  • Work with product leadership to properly package and position new funds or strategies based on input from LPs and consultants as well as assessment of competitors

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience, with a focus on private markets (most recently) of directly relevant fundraising/investor relations experience, either in an in-house capacity or as a third-party placement.
  • In-depth knowledge of private market investment products, including private equity, real assets, and alternative investments.
  • Experience navigating relationships with institutional LPs, and working with clients in one or more of the following channels: Pension funds, Insurance companies, Endowments, Foundations, Family Office/Wealth/RIAs.
  • Experience engaging with investors in a consultative, asset allocation-type discussion in “solutions” oriented approach as opposed to solely a “product push” format.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex investment concepts to diverse audiences, with proven success in exceeding sales investment targets.
