We are seeking a self-starting Controller / Director of Accounting and Finance to play a pivotal role in our finance department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and analyzing financial models and strategies, overseeing the ongoing implementation of an accurate and timely financial reporting, financial planning and forecasting and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making. The ideal candidate should have, at minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with at least 10 years of experience in a financial role. The Controller / Director of Accounting and Finance should possess strong knowledge of financial principles, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and implementation of financial plans, policies and procedures
Develop financial models and strategies for long-term and short-term financial performance
Analyze and interpret financial data to identify trends, risks and opportunities
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, budgets and forecasts
Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts, including the management and oversight of AR and AP (customer invoicing and payment processing, vendor management and processing of all vendor invoices)
Develop and maintain relationships with banks and other financial institutions
Ensure that the financial objectives of the organization are met
Develop performance metrics to measure and track the organization’s financial performance
Analyze financial risks and provide advice to senior management on mitigating these risks
Assist in the implementation of MS Dynamics Business Central 365 ERP system
Work closely with CFO and outsourced accounting team to ensure the timely delivery of above responsibilities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
At least 10 years’ experience in a financial role
Extensive knowledge of GAAP
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with Microsoft Suite, notably MS Excel (proficiency with VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables required)
Experience with MS Dynamics Business Central 365 required
Construction industry experience is required
